Route
From River Gardens car park (P&D) head over the river keeping to path on right and admire the historic mill and horseshoe weir. A classic photo of the mills and bridge can be taken from ’Belper beach’ on the other side of the bridge.
Bear right at the junction and take the first right down Wyver Lane. Walk along for approximately 1/2 mile, taking path left and up through farm gate after woods.
After second farm gate at top of hill, turn immediately right down hill before reaching farm to bottom left corner of field.
Go through tight squeeze stile and through woods then carefully down two steps in wall back to Wyver Lane. Turn right and past bird hide and gate to woods. Head diagonally right through woods and over stile, then over two fields to stone stile and continue straight and past the cottages at the Scotches. Head downhill and back over bridge to return.
