Route
Starting at Belper Leisure Centre, cross Kilbourne Road at pedestrian crossing near roundabout. Turn right for 10m then take footpath next to field up to squeeze stile. Turn right then past houses on right to field. Keep hedge on right and over stile.
Head up left* past utility building then right at fingerpost and up past play-area to field. Head diagonally right across fields to fence above Hungerhill Quarry (“the pit”) and then along wall to Sandbed Lane. Turn right and onto wide farm track on other side of road.
Go straight down track, past covered reservoir and houses on your left. After road curves right, take path on right at bottom of field to stile in corner, then across another field and between houses to Killis Lane. Turn right and carefully proceed up sometimes busy road to pavement, then up to farm on corner.
Take footpath to right of farm and head straight to houses. Take footpath on right between groups of houses, and follow around edges of two fields then diagonally down, back to road curve at bottom.
Turn slightly left and head straight through two gates to path through wood. When leaving wood, keep hedges on right, and head through three fields then through gate in hedge into field. Head diagonally to far corner and through gate onto Sandbed Lane.
Cross straight over and follow footpath signs to far left corner of bungalow garden. Head down narrow path, through backyard of former pub and onto Kilbourne Road. Turn left and back to Leisure Centre.
